1336815b15dCentennial Olympic Park is located in Atlanta, Georgia, and is one of the preferred lasting additions to the city of Atlanta for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Built particularly for the games, the Centennial Olympic Park covers a land area of more than 20 acres, and is filled with memorials to the games, the same thing with the other interesting chronological monuments.

The park was closed in 1996, after the games, and reopened in 1998 with improvements that made the park ideal for undeviating use. Also multiple concert stages can be found at the park, and event and parks in Atlanta include time spent at Centennial Park. The park offers an excellent visitor centre, located on International Boulevard, which is in the southwest corner of the park. Centennial Olympic Park was first carved out of an area of downtown Atlanta that was once less than beautiful, but today the park is one of the nicest urban parks in the country.

One of the most well-known features of this park is the huge park fountain in the shape of interlocking Olympic Rings. Located in the middle of a plaza, the fountain is the major core of the park, and in the summer travelers will find hordes of kids and adults cooling off in the jets.

After visiting the High Museum of Art, World of Coca Cola, Zoo Atlanta, be sure you visit the park.
