National Air and Space Museum of Washington
The National Air and Space Museum really maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. Makes it as one of the most visited tourist destinations in Washington DC.
The NASM is very important academic hub for inquisition into the development and science of aviation and interplanetary exploration and earth science, geology and physics as well. The Museum has two display facilities “National Mall” in downtown Washington DC and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles International Airport. There is a shuttle bus available called the Express, which will take you between them. If you’re having a vacation in DC, make sure to visit both of the Museums.
The Albert Einstein Planetarium at the NASM offers as astronomical experience which is perfect for your Washington DC vacation. The primary show at the planetarium is the “Infinity Express”, about 20mins tour of the Universe.
Getting to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is very easy, you can just drive yourself with your private car or you can use the shuttle bus “The Express” from Smithsonian NASM. The Shuttle runs six times per day from both locations, starts art 9am until 5pm only. Shuttle is not free, you will be ask to pay $10 for round-trip and are sold at the IMAX film box office. Using your private car, be aware that parking fee is around $15, due to the fact that the place lies on the airport property. Don’t forget to shop for your souvenirs. Many shops are provided on both Museums.
Did you know? That the National Mall building in Washington DC comes with hundreds of artifacts on display. It includes the Apollo 11 command module, Wright 1903 Flyer, the Spirit of St. Louis, and a lunar rock sample that visitors can touch. The Museums are said to be one of the top tourist destinations of Washington DC.
