Ofu Island is primarily notable for its outstanding beach.Ofu Island offers beaches that are certainly one of the best in the region, if not the world. There is also a great encircling reef that covers Ofu and the neighboring Olosega Island.
American Samoa's chief destinations include beautiful mountain and coastal scenery, beaches, relaxation, hiking and indigenous culture and many other things.
Other things you can do at Ofu Island include viewing the excavation remains of the To'aga site, where many archaeologists have found an amazing amount of historical Samoan artifacts. There is also a nice dayhike to the top of 1,500 ft tall Mt. Tumutumu, which offers a very excellent views of the surrounding area.
These islands are very lovely, but their appeal is primarily to those who will be comforted not annoyed by the constant reminders of the U.S. presence. The island is said to be not the place for travelers who want to deeply immerse themselves in traditional Polynesian life.
Did you know? That the Ofu Island consists of a 4km stretch of palm-lined white sandy beach.
