Blue Ridge Parkway of North Carolina
Blue Ridge Parkway is the given name of the highway which runs through the Blue Ridge Mountains which are fraction of the Appalachian Mountain Range.
Due to the popularity and beauty of the scenic of both sides of the Blue Ridge Parkway is monitored and maintained by the USPS-United State Park Service, which keeps the area well protected making it as one of the most popular tourist attraction in North Carolina.
The Parkway started under the presidency of Franklin Roosevelt and is originally called as Appalachian Scenic Highway. The building of the highway was undertaken as part of an attempt to jumpstart the American Economy and as well to provide a panoramic view of the Appalachian Mountains which could be enjoyed by car. The construction of the highway has started way back 1930’s and the very last section of the road not lay until 1987.
The Blue Ridge Parkway runs through 27 different tunnels and 26 of which are in North Carolina.
Along the way, there are many Blue Ridge Parkway surely you will enjoy. And for sure you will not be disappointed about it. And on the way, you will encounter the Cumberland Knob, located about “200” two hundred miles from the north. Aside from the scenic view while driving your car, you’ll find along the way a trail that will stretch your legs and arms. Try it and feel free to relax while stretching your body. But don’t stretch your money okay?!. When you visit the trail, don’t forget to bring with you a camera, because it is a best place for taking pictures.
When you visit the place, remember that pets without a leash are not allowed, no fires and you have to keep your car speed under 45 miles an hour.
